He sits
In a bucket of shit
He waits
Upon a mountain of waste
He lives
In such a hellish state
Nothing
Not anything known
Or anything sown
Can save him
No faith
Can redeem him
No God
Could ever adore him
He is doomed
Death will be his way
His once and for all escape
A bullet to the brain
A slit of the wrist
Whichever is quickest
To a man like him
All of it matters none
The pain he feels
The ways in which he reels
His stomach turns
His blood boils
His mind races wild
His heart jumps along
Skipping and thumping
Stammering as it is fighting
All the while whispering to itself
Just one more beat
Just one second left to endure
He sits
In a bucket of shit
He waits
Upon a mountain of waste
He lives
Such a hellish life
Nothing
Not anything known
Can save him
Refuse
Is what he is
What he has become
It is all that he identifies with
It is all that he understands
There is nothing else for him
When he was created
He was destined to be wasted
When he was born
He was just as quickly discarded
Thrown away by his parents
Tossed aside as trash
Placed out of sight
Placed out of mind
Removed from human status
Never again did they return
Never again did they care
Alone he instantly became
In such a state of nothingness
He would forever remain
Rotting away as he changed
From flesh and blood
To something putrid and diluted
To something quite sickening
Spoiling as he has aged
Decaying as he has lived
Rotted from purpose and meaning
Unapologetically left wasting away
Refuse
What he is
What he has become
There is nothing else
He is trash in a world
Full of all that he knows
As garbage…
