A LEPRECHAUN'S TALE

In the fields beyond the moors,the sound of music drifted.
Leprechaun's dance, their passion strong and gifted.
They kept time with the many tiny violins that played,
until the sun set low and they hurried to their glade.

Not easily seen by mortals, not about to lose their gold
that is found at the end of the rainbows, never to be sold.
Never to be robbed of their famous good old Irish luck,
Mortals may try hard to capture one but usually get stuck!

Crafty creatures they are, and you just never will know
when one might appear in the late evening's eerie glow!
They love to play tricks on the unsuspecting townsfolk
and they while away time exchanging a very good joke.

Although they have fun doing their mischief .I declare
that it's the music and blarney that they like to share.
So a word of advice, as I close out this short tale -
Stay away from the moors at night, or they will wail.

They are up to no good, but then they try to have fun,
keeping farmers wondering just what they have done.
Riding bareback on a dog or to let a pig out of the pen,
will provide their loud laughter again and yet again.
