An original poem by me :) enjoy; not based off me entirely; kinda like realistic fiction |
You're the girl with the broken smile I can see you've cried for long, long while and I'm sittin' here tryin' to think of a reason why Why you should be mine I stayed up late tryin' to think of ways to ask you out the very next day I knew I'd see you there, with that long, blonde hair But talk to you I just couldn't dare Just thinkin' of you makes me feel chills You'd have to kill me to make my heart sit still I want you to know how you make me feel But when you're near my lips just seal My mouth runs dry and my words fade away Nothing I could do but ask you to stay But you just kept on walkin' by "It's over now and you're too late" Those words you said made my heart break I don't know why I made you turn away I'd give the whole world up for just one more day You're the girl with the broken smile and I'm the guy that has no style I'm sittin' here with my pains all day Tryin' to drink them all away You'll be the one to find me here Barely awake and able to hear Then you'll ask "Baby, are you okay?" You're voice chokin' you'll beg me to stay You just didn't know I'd die "It's over now and you're too late" My last words will never fade You won't know why I chose this fate I gave up the world just to spite the next day And now you're the girl with the broken smile and you won't be seein' me for a long, long while You'll be standin' there watchin' 'em put me in the ground My coffin hittin' dirt must be an awful sound Tears will run down your beautiful face Try as you might you can't erase Cryin's the only sound you'll make Hell, you would probably even miss my wake Maybe when I'm gone you'll finally see you meant the whole wide world to me If I can't have you in my arms I don't want to live and feel the harm This life I'm given means nothin' to me If you're not the first I wake to see So this is goodbye, at least for now I've had my applause and took my bow I would have run mile after painful mile just to get a chance to fix that broken smile |
