The transformation of a Civil War soldier.
Phillip was drug into the war. His father was a Confederate General and forced him to fight for the confederate army. Phillip was more of a pacifist and didn’t want to fight but because he loved him so dearly, he risked his life to gain the honor of his father. He was about to fight in his first battle, which took place in his home state of Tennessee, but because of his timid nature his brothers in arms put him down, making the experience even worse. The air was chilling and he wanted to be anywhere else other than this frozen battlefield. They lined up, facing their enemies, ready for battle. The first shot was fired and the battle commenced. After nearly twenty minutes of harsh battle, Phillip began to thing the ordeal was over. As he let his guard down, he felt a sharp pain in his back, falling to the ground, screaming in agony. His breathes slowly faded and his eyes gradually closed.

Phillip then woke up, suddenly, not knowing where he was. It looked as if it were a basement of some sort. Was he in heaven? Was he in Hell? He was bewildered until a dark figure approached him.

“Where am I?” Phillip asked with a confused face.

“I pulled you away from battle. You had a fatal wound, but I’m going to ask you a question, do you want to live?” the ominous figure questioned.

“Well, of course I do”, Phillip replied. He laid there unaware of how his life was about to change forever. The figure made a swift move to his neck, biting into his soft flesh. Phillip squirmed in fear but slowly calmed down. The figure then bit his own wrist, letting the blood trickle into Phillip’s mouth. Phillip then rose up quickly, feeling better than he ever had before. He started to see colors he’d never seen before, hearing sounds that were too quiet to hear before, smelling smells too acute for the human nose to detect. He felt like a new being.

“What did you just do?” Philip asked with a face of utter enjoyment.

“I gave you the gift or forever youth and a new life” He replied.

“How?”

“I’ll explain it later, but now we must go on our first hunt”.
