Micah Krzysztof Vaughn
• Age: 25/17
• 1990: 5-9, 200 lbs. Dark-skinned, short salt and pepper hair. Scar on the left side of his face, the result of a knifing the previous year.
• 1982: 5-7, 160 lbs. Dark-skinned, his Mohawk ancestry showing. Wears glasses. Athlete – soccer and track.
• Dark brown eyes
• The third child, only son, born to Johanna (nee Andrzejewski) and Nicholas Vaughn. Older sisters Ewa and Weronika, younger sister Stephanie spoiled and teased him growing up.
• A natural athlete, a bookwork, can be seen reading a book while waiting to play a pickup basketball or softball game
• He has an unnatural ability to walk silently, especially when barefoot
• Has a sixth sense of anticipation
• A quiet person, slow-fused to anger, but once it’s lit, will explode
• Was painfully shy until near his 1t6th birthday when he saw a lovely teenage girl playing volleyball, used a lame line – “Hey, are you going to stand there and look pretty or are you going to serve the ball!?” – to get her attention. It worked: They spent the next few days together and began a special relationship
• Has the ability to make women comfortable, have them tell them their secrets and give them incredible comfort with his hugs.

Antoinette Gabriella De Fiore
• Age: 17/25
• 1982: 5 ft, maybe 90 lbs.. Though half-Italian, her skin isn’t as dark as Micah’s. Medium length black hair. Dark brown eyes, almond-shaped, they light up when Micah appears.

Kiliaen Van Rossum
• Age: 52
• 6-1, 200, short gray hair, blue eyes
• A one-time American History professor at the State University of New York at Albany, he’s now on a quest to find a long ago stolen painting that might lead him to prove a family legend

Cole Eades
• Age: 36
• 6 ft, 225, military length black hair, dark blue eyes
• A former member of the U.S. Army infantry, now working for a rival private detective agency
• Has a thick North Carolina accent

Eric Judge
• Age: 37
• 5-11, 185 lbs., long dirty blond hair, soft brown eyes
• Was Eades’ sergeant in the Army, works for the same private detective agency

1982 Antagonists
Thomas Middleton, Antoinette’s former boyfriend
• Age: 18
• 5-10, 200 lbs., short brown hair, blue eyes
• Defensive captain of the high school football team. He dated Antoinette for two months – September and October – before “moving” on to a cheerleader. When he found out about Micah, he decided Antoinette was interesting again

Jonah Foss, Middleton’s friend
• Age: 18
• 5-11, 200 lbs., long black hair, brown eyes
• Linebacker alongside of Middleton
• Lifelong friend, would follow the other into Hell and back

Clayton Osborne, Antoinette’s boss
• Age: 30
• 5-6, 220 lbs., balding, light brown hair, blue eyes
• Supervisor at supermarket where Antoinette works
• Is jealous of any relationship she’s had since she began working as a 15-year-old cashier
• Asked Antoinette several times for dinner, but was always rejected

Sean Gray, Osborne’s cousin
• Age: 32
• 5-9, 150 lbs., medium dark brown hair, dark brown hair
• Bakery manager at the same market as Antoinette and Osborne work
• Another jealous person of Micah’s relationship with Antoinette

Stephanie Vaughn, Micah’s younger sister
• Age: 16
• 5-2, 110 lbs., blonde hair, blue eyes, light complexion
• She sensed a change in her brother almost immediately
• She sensed something special in the relationship between Antoinette and her brother

Ewa Vaughn, Micah’s oldest sister
• Age: 21
• 5-3, 160 lbs., light brown hair, blue eyes, light complexion
• A student at Union College, she noticed something amiss with her younger brother

Stuart DeMuth, professor at Union College
• Age: 56
• 5-5, 130 lbs., long salt and pepper hair, brown eyes behind thick glasses
• Ewa’s physics’ professor

Emily Cleary, Micah’s journalism teacher
• Age: 34
• 5-4, 130 lbs., mousy brown hair, blue eyes
• The former journalist, now teacher, has tried to get Micah to write more, both fiction and non-fiction. Once he returned from the weekend, she sees something more in his writing.

Alexander Black, Micah’s cousin
• Age: 18
• 5-5, 145 lbs., dark complexion, black hair, dark brown eyes
• Though second cousins, they were raised more like brothers. After talking with Stephanie, he helps Micah with a task.
