It’s profanation

Don't burn books!

Don't graffiti pages

Or highlight the nooks

Or you'll be kept in cages!


It's profanation

To destroy a book

Despite temptation

Else find the reaping hook!


Books don't self-combust!

If you feel you have to

They can be covered in dust

Don't give the corners a chew!


Treasure the wonder

Use the words as a hook

Just don't have a blunder

Definitely don't burn that book!
