This poem describes the feelings I had when I performed horribly on my final.
To what pleasure do I owe the company?
O Sadness, Anger and Disdain.

Aren’t my past failures enough penance?
To satiate these stubborn tenants,
Who refuse to leave the home of my Existence,
O Sadness, Anger and Disdain.

Have you not tortured my soul enough?
Feeding on the nourishment that gives me hope,
Ransacking happiness and now I’m broke,
O Sadness, Anger and Disdain.

This Course that I share with promising Time,
Was meant to halt my decline,
The soil nurturing my talents with shine,
Now these talents struggle beneath the garbage and grime.
O Sadness, Anger and Disdain,

I hear your cries from beyond the plains,
“Who should you blame?”
Yet there is no blame here to claim,
I will carry this failure as a mark of shame,
O Sadness, Anger and Disdain.

Maybe I was comfortable,
Beside the brook,
Forgetting that I had piranhas devouring my foot,
Deception for Success I must have mistook,
And like a fool, I jumped but did not look,
O Sadness, Anger and Disdain.

However, unlike the mutt,
I am not chained,
And Success, Happiness and Promise,
I can still claim,
I will fight on,
To and through the misery and the pain,
In hope of a brighter day.

Goodbye Sadness, Anger and Disdain.
