This is something I wrote to help me through a hard time. Ive never done this before.
Finding the one, to losing the one.

An attempt at poetry by David Clarke

I found the one, and now she’s not here, unexplainable happiness to emptiness and fear…

The butterflies in my belly, hairs stand up with excitement, to the ache in my chest, the sick feeling the self torment.

Planning the future, there’s not enough time, feeling on top of the world, I’m untouchable, I can fly. To fearing the future, what do I do now, its empty, its lonely, wishing time would speed by.

I hate her, she’s hurt me like nobody could, who am I kidding, I love her, she’s amazing, id just hold her if I could.

Going to bed being in an embrace, making love see the beauty, passion and love in her face, I don’t want to be anywhere else, now its time for bed, I don’t want to go, she’s not there, its just darkness and silence, now a place of despair.

Wake up roll over, reach out she’s there, still asleep warm and beautiful, put my arm around her, I’ll keep her safe, kiss her face, to wake up roll over, wait…she’s not there, its cold and empty, just a silent space.

The moments I look at her and stop in my tracks, say the words to myself…god she’s beautiful, there’s nothing she lacks, now she’s not there those moments are gone, everywhere I go I keep thinking I see her, my heart starts racing until I realise I’m wrong, now all I’m left with an image in my head, that beautiful face one I’ll never forget, oh here we go…even more regret.

She loved to debate, and came so alive when she did, I see the passion she has, I’m so proud, a debate we once had was one of God, something I dismissed, now I look to the sky and say help you sod.

So much I love about her, from her squeaking and silly morning face, to her kind loving heart and caring soft touch, to I’ll never see these again, god I miss her so much.

I found the one and now she’s not here, she showed me love and how to care, now she’s gone, life is not fair, there’s no point in looking, no one else will ever compare.
