My revelation! |
Have you ever had a lightbulb moment? A moment where you realize something that somehow has evaded you? You wander how you had not thought of it before. My life has been a series of lightbulb moments. I became a Christian when I was eighteen. At that time, I did not realize how many times I would stumble and fall. When I went off to college, I strayed away from the way I knew God wanted me to live. I did things that I am not proud of. Little did I realize that even then, God was planning to use these experiences for my benefit in the future. What is really a shocking and amazing thought is that when I was standing in an altar at eighteen years old giving my heart to the Lord, He knew then what I would do in the future. He knew I would sin and how I would sin, but He still accepted me just as I was. I think of King David. He was a murderer, an adulterer, and a liar. God called him a man after His own heart. Why? Because David acknowledged his sin and repented. Because of this God's son, Jesus, came from David's lineage. If you find yourself far from where you know God wants you, know this - God doesn't expect perfection. He wants your repentence and acknowledgement of His son as the Savior of the World. And when you sin, please realize that He knew you would sin and that you have an advocate with the Father in heaven-Jesus the Christ. All He expects is for us to acknowledge our sin and accept the sacrifice for our sin - His son!! |
