Past the Point of Understanding

Past the point of understanding,
And looking for relief.
I go to God in prayer.
He gives me grace and peace.

Past the point of understanding,
And the pain is very real.
I turn to precious Jesus.
He knows just how I feel.

When I just don’t understand
All the things I’m going through.
Jesus whispers, “Peace, be still.
I am right here, child, with you”

Oh, Lord, I just can’t understand
The trouble and the trials.
“Hush, dear child, I’m with you
Every step and every mile.”

When my mind can’t understand
I read a Proverb and a Psalm.
I read how there in Gilead
He is the only balm.

Just past the point understanding,
And you’re searching for relief.
Just go to God in prayer.
You’ll find His grace and peace.
