An insane poem about a man who will not give his wife what she wants most of all.

She said
Then she fled
Where did she go
I do not know
Alone I searched
Alone I remained
Then one bright day
Instantly made darker
She returned
Poof
Out of thin air
She was there
In my face
Telling me
What a waste
She wanted a divorce
A permanent parting of ways
Which until she returned
I was sure
Was already the case
I said no
I confessed my love
I told her that I
Could not live without her
I assured her that I
Had made a promise
To her and to God
I swore to love her
Until death do us part
She called me a hypocrite
She swore I was a heretic
She told me that it was I
And not her
That had cheated
That I had broken any
And all of the sacred vows
And that God above
And in her words
The Devil in my soul
Would understand
She said that I had to let her go
And that I had to give her a divorce
Of course I continued to refuse
So she, like before
Disappeared
Poof
Gone just like that
Never again did she return
Never again a single trace
I can’t help but to wonder
What has ever become of her
To this day she is still my wife
Legally and not physically of course
No papers have ever come
No legalities ever settled
Just a husband with
A wife nowhere
My latest girlfriend does not care
Of course it helps that she
Is completely unaware
If she ever wants to get married
From the mouth of decadence
I will be forced to frankly speak
Revealing that I am spoken for
A married man keeping his promise
If not to his missing wife
Then certainly to his God above…
