A poem about fibromyalgia
I hurt today.
I'm in a flare.
Be gentle please,
and hug with care.

The pain is bad!
"What hurts?" you ask.
Everything hurts
no matter the task.

My arms, my hands,
my feet, and toes,
My legs, my back,
even my nose...

My joints are stiff,
my skin feels seared.
Sounds torment me.
Hope's disappeared.

Crying won't help
my attitude.
Now my eyes hurt.
I sit and brood.

Other things plague me.
I'm in a fog.
Can't play with my kids,
or walk the dog.

I'm so sleepy,
yet I'm awake.
How much more of
this can I take?

"What is this plague?"
I hear you gasp.
Fibromyalgia
has me in it's grasp.

Please find a cure
I beg of y'all.
I'm slipping fast,
but refuse to fall.

Chronic fatigue,
depression too,
I pray dear Lord,
"What will I do?"

"Be patient, child,"
I hear Him say.
"A cure is coming,
just not today."
