A poem about hope.
Trembling,
Quivering like a leaf in the breeze,
Watch me grow.
Watch me struggle.
Watch me unfold like a tender flower
Who’s petals are raw and new.

Oh, that this too soft flesh would melt.
Watch me peel off the dead layers to reveal
An innocent heart,
That with every echoing beat
Grows even more powerful.

Watch me peel off the heavy pounds of morbid.
Watch the pan slip away.
Watch the rose inside spread to full bloom,
And project only light.

Watch me reveal my heart.
A pale unknowing heart,
Eager to embrace the soft light of hope.
A heart that will withstand all sadness
Just to fill itself with a new happiness.

A new joy,
A new life,
A new me.
