Poem I just now wrote to try and introduce myself. Hope you like. New guy here. |
To understand me, really We have to go back to the beginning To the, once upon a time of the story Where everything I thought I was holding on to was real And I sold my eternal soul, in a raw deal See I got nothing in return for my sin Just heartache and heartbreak from the reapin Drinking, drugs and women started out as fun But just like every season, it had its' day under the sun And I found myself in a new home In that valley deep The place where I sold my soul And the darkness was all mine to keep It started out as just a little drink just a little toke A little party because well, you know life is joke Little did I know, the devil was playing me Because in the end, I paid a price for thinking, sin was free Please lend me your ears pay close attention Because you, you just might learn a lesson I became something I never wanted to be What started out as fun, nearly destroyed me So please please, listen closely I found myself in a new home In that valley deep The place where I sold my soul And the darkness was all mine to keep. Having so called fun found me wanting There was never enough drugs or drinking Never enough to pay for my habit So I became a thief, just so I could have it It wasn't long til I was in the streets Caught up in violence and redefining why my heart beats I was in love with chaos and violence I became their puppet, suffering in silence A slave serving wholly in obesiance Because I was in a new home In that valley deep That place where I sold my soul And the darkness was all mine to keep But near the end, in my confusion, a blade found my flesh When it was about to kiss my wrist, There was a still small voice, calling through the darkness And surrounding me with HIS HOLINESS In my living room I was driven to my knees Calling on Jesus with tears streaming down my cheeks And it was there In that new home In that valley deep Where Jesus saved my soul And said, I am HIS now, eternally to keep... |
