A weird poem about writing and how it relates to the world around me.

Song of a tree
Whisper please
Bend the wind
Break it again
Snapping
Shattering
Idealism
I wanna know
I wanna be shown
The secrets kept
Shared in jest
Lies upon lies
There is no God
Not one I accept
There is no light
Not one I can see
Blackness easily bleeds
Filling up
Nothing defined
By who
Such a definition
Is beyond imagination
Song of a tree
Standing before me
Completely free
What does that mean
More importantly
How does it feel
Bound by causality
Infinitely grounded
A shared reality
That I understand
Just as I should
No one else does
Because they don’t see
Blind creatures they seem
Without clear vision
Their judgment is diluted
Their truth is skewed
To fit the narrative
But that is not me
I see you and hear you
I know your song
As the wind blows
Shifting your role
So does mine
I bend
If need be I break
The weight is equal
Each branch supports
Such a hellish load
Parts fall
Downward bound
Gravity’s sweet release
Tumbling down
Into Earth’s abode
Forever to be home
Within the muck and mire
Rotting to feed what’s next
Propagation of a species
Obliteration of another
Song of a tree
Increasingly pleasant you seem
The sounds you make
The belief that I am sure
I don’t need
Is becoming quite apparent
I am just a man
Somehow acutely attune
I am just a man
Listening to certain things
That should not be speaking
But rather fighting for existence…
