For My Big Brother


Words truly can't describe my love for you
But I will give it my best shot.
You are in every song I listen to.
I see pieces of you in everyone I come across
And I have to smile


You wonder if you're worthy of such love
But in my eyes there is no one on this earth more worthy
My love for you crosses the universe
And traverses all the way back to my heart.


I know things have been tough
But that is when you will see
Just how much you mean to me.


When you hurt, a knife pierces me through.
When you're away, I worry and pray
I feel as if I have loved you for a thousand years.
But these things you already know.


But do you know your own worth?
My heart begs you to see
That as much as I hate me
Doesn't even touch how much I love you.


I see your worth.
I see nothing but worth.
All the currency in the world
Couldn't match your worth.


My tears for you and this physical distance
Won't stop the fact that our hearts are nearer than magnets and metal.
That is what you do.
Your heart endears even the coldest heart.


This love will never stop.
It has a way of giving one hope,
And the assurance that there is still good
In this corrupt world.


Please never forget
That as long as you are alive
There is hope for a greater world.
You make the sun brighter.
Its setting you make infinitely more colorful



No other heart can accomplish
The things we've made it through.
So, when I say you can make it through,
Know that I have all this and more faith in you.

To say that I love you is about the understatement of the century.  Every word in this poem is true.  I would write all the poems in the world for you if I knew it would keep you alive.  You once told me you may not make it six months.  But, it's been a year since you said that and look how far you've come!  Your strength is just one of the infinitely long list of things that make you the most amazing person I've ever met.  You will make it through this.  I have that faith in you.  I have all the faith in the world in you.  I haven't been able to do much to make things better, but you know as well as I do that I am doing it the only way I know how to, the only way I am able just now.  I will be here for you forever, even longer than you or I are on this planet.  You deserve more than the world.  You deserve to be the entire universe to someone and now you know you are.  I love you, big brother.  Be safe.
