A poem/song that I wrote about getting older and moving away from home.
It’s time to leave home
Cuz I’m getting older
But I don’t want to think about that
It’s time to go on
And keep moving forward
But maybe, just maybe, I’ll sometimes look back

Cuz the nights are longer now
And summer’s long over now
It’s time to bring out my old winter coat
Cuz maybe just maybe it’s finally
Time for goodbye

I don’t think I’m ready to be on my own
I want to be in middle school again
I want to run home to my mom in the kitchen
And she’ll ask me how was my day
But instead I’m returning
To a lonely cold dorm room
Where I’ll sit by myself and think

Cuz maybe just maybe it’s finally time for goodbye

Cuz the nights are longer now
And summer’s long over now
It’s time to bring out my old winter coat
Cuz maybe just maybe it’s finally
Time for goodbye
