What is Love?

Many a song have been written ‘bout love
I'd say its not a rhyme of raging rapture,
nor a dirge of dying dreams..

rather it’s a subtle melancholy song
sung behind bars, breathing  life
into a solemn smile.

and sometimes, sometimes…
it’s a treble tremble,
a high note in my life
leaving me in a manic dribble

and then it’s a calm cadence
whistling within my soul
knowing you’ll always be there

most of all it’s a symphony
of many instruments
playing at once
often confusing
yet always in harmony
always beautiful…
