A unique poem about making an important decision about where I stand in life. |
-To The Left of A Landslide- by Keaton Foster Here it comes Death Never to be undone Freedom from skin Such a hellish thing One step to the right Certainly ending my plight One step to the left Extension until next time A split second to decide The most important Decision of all time Irony aside What should I do How could I dare move What about fate God’s masterful plan Is this And the decision that must be made All part of a game That I am unknowingly playing Will I win or will I lose Does victory matter most of all Or will my transcendence Be persona non grata Am I ready Whatever the hell that means One step to the right and I die One step to the left and I survive Then again I guess I could just not move at all A third option, the one That by faith should be The easiest one of the three to decide By no one but me Just as quick I think back Of all the lessons of my life All the hell that I have been through And those few amazing events That have somehow made it all Seem worth every second of it Decision made Being to the left of a landslide Is always a better choice Regardless of faith, or lack thereof Regardless of fate, or the rules of chance Regardless of the pain And the wounds that will always remain Life, even one like mine Is not about any of those things Life is only about one true thing A thing that trumps all others Living… To The Left Of A Landslide Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2012. |
