A weird poem about perceptions falling from the sky. |
-A Splinter In The Sky- by Keaton Foster Lay on your back Stare at the crack A splinter in the sky Ready, ever so ready To open quite wide What will pour out Will it be sadness and doubt Will it be unquantifiable belief Will those who see understand Or will they be left with questions Unanswerable predicaments Forever to be faced alone A new reality mired in duality Two states within one hypocrisy Will understanding what is seen Become our new decree No longer will we pledge allegiance Individualism will become our everything A mountain upon which we alone will stand Hurling insults from great heights Down upon those who we are sure are unlike us Lay on your back Stare at the crack A splinter in the sky Ready, ever so ready To open quite wide What will pour out See for yourself Understand what it means Take it deep inside Hold it next to your heart Feel each pain filled arc As what you are certain it is Burns its way into your soul Fusing all of your ideas into one reality A reality from which you Could never hope to hide A new perspective that could have only come From the perilous heavens above You can see much if you know where to look You can spot, adjust, and formulate All that you are And all that your world represents But be warned of what you see What falls down, upon your case Will affect not only you, but all of us In many dramatic ways… A Splinter In The Sky Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2012. |
