Accepting differences isn't a bad thing! |
Why is being different so wrong? People disapprove and stare But honestly what are they doing wrong, And what’s the harm? Why do people always frown Whenever someone different is around? It’s like they’ve caught a disease Or they’re not worth anyone’s time. What they don’t see Is that they are causing pain To those who are different. Ignorance is such bliss. How many times do you have to criticize them, And say hurtful things before you realize that they mean no harm? They just want to live their own lives Free of judgment and hate. Religion plays a factor for many But doesn’t the bible say God loves everyone? Regardless of how different people are He still accepts and loves them, why can’t you? Gay, Bi-sexual, Wiccan, Buddhist, Jewish… These are all terms that could be used to describe different people What’s so wrong with having your own view of the world? God still loves you regardless. We all need to break away from the hate From the judgment and the pain. We just need to accept those who are different Imagine how many lives would be saved. Because when you judge someone who’s different Every single minute or every single day They start to feel worthless And think the answer is leaving this earth. Help save many precious lives By stopping the prejudice and pain. Next time you see someone different Don’t snub them or stick up your nose. Instead take time to get to know them Learn about what they believe in Embrace what they tell you The person behind the difference is the same as you and I You’ll never know the wonder You’ll never know the friendship You’ll never know the kindness Of the person who’s different if you don’t give them a chance It’s easy to ignore them And live in your safe haven However, there’s an old saying that “Ignorance is bliss, but knowledge is power” Let the different people be different Just because they aren’t the same as you Doesn’t mean they’re evil You don’t realize how much your words can affect them So open your minds to new and different things Because once you accept a person For whom they are They become the person they were meant to be |
