She has that moment where she is finally happy.
She walks down the dark alley. The wind is blowing hard and the pale moon casts a soft light on the big dark buildings. The old streetlamps are the only light besides the moon and stars.

She is on her way home after a party. A long black dress without sleeves is the only thing she has to keep her warm. The cold wind give her bare arms goose numbs.

“I just had to forget my jacket!” she says hardly to herself, as she turns left into another alley.

A cold wind blows through the night. She turns left again and nearly falls over something on the road. She looks back and sees a box. It is black with a single white flower glued to the upper right corner.

She looks at the box. There is no one around. Not a single soul. She wonders what it is and let her curiosity take over. She slowly bows down to pick up the box. A weak sound behind her make her stand up with a chock.

Brown dry leafs dances on the wind and an old can is tumbling down the road. She shakes her head.

“Scary cat” she whispers with a smile and turns around.

She looks down in front of her. There is nothing to see. The little black box is gone. She looks around, but it is nowhere to find.

She walks on, still thinking about the box. It reminded her about an old painting her mother had. It had the same white flower painted on it.

The wind is getting colder. The small stars shine on the dark night sky, keeping the pale moon and a few clouds company. As she walks she thinks about the party she just left. She flirted with a nice looking boy. He was the schools best soccer player and most girls wanted to date him, but for some reason she didn’t feel like dating him. He had asked her out, but she had turned him down without even thinking about it.

She sighted. “The schools hot guy invites you on dinner and you turn him down. What the hell am I doing…” she said to her self. Truth was that she had been feeling wired lately.

Of some reason she decides to take another way home. She doesn’t freeze so much anymore.

She walks for a bit before she stops in jet another alley. The little box from before is laying in front of her. She picks it up. It fells warm in her hands. She looks around. Every street is empty. She softly bites her lower lip. After a few seconds she can’t hold back anymore and slowly open box. Inside the box is a small silver ring with a white stone.

With a calm hand she takes out the ring. It sparkles slightly in the pale moonlight. Another small sound makes her turn around with a gasp. She drops the ring because of the sudden movement.

She looks down, but the ring as well as the box is gone. Instead a single red petal is laying in front of her shoes. It moves slightly in the cold wind.

She looks at it and thinks about picking it up. She wonders where it came from.

“There is not a single bush our any other plant in this part of town, so how can a petal end up here?” she mumbles and bow down to pick it up.

A soft hand suddenly grabs her shoulder. She gasps and turns around.

A tall, slim man stands behind her. He is wearing a white suit with a matching hat. His face is hidden behind a plain white mask.

He bows slightly and hand her a single red rose.

Her hart is beating in her chest as she hesitates before reaching out to take the rose.

Just when her fingers reach the rose the man softly grasps her hand. She wants to jump backwards but doesn’t.

He lay something cold in her hand together with the rose.

She looks down and sees the small silver ring shining slightly besides the rose. As she looks up again, the man is gone.

She walks out on the street to find him, but there is no trace of him ever being there. Nothing, except the rose and the ring.

She looks at the red rose. It smells sweet. The small ring is making her palm spin. She smiles as she walks away with the ring on her finger and the rose in her hand.
