Poem of a fight against abuse, what it's like, how it feels.
Do you know what it's like?
What it's like to be used,
And abused,
And tortured,
Until life's just one giant blur
Of slaps,
Punches,
Kicks,
Throws,
Pain.
It.
Never.
Ends.
The cycle just goes on and on,
You can't excape.
It.
Never.
Ends.
All they do is call you names,
Hit you until you can't see straight
Or remember your name,
Tell you you're not good enough,
No matter what.
It.
Never.
Ends.
Day after day,
Week after week,
Month after month,
Year after horrendus year.
Eventually you're going to run out of excuses
For the bruises that multiply by the day,
For the bones that break but never heal,
Never even get checked out by a doctor.
It.
Never.
Ends.
Finally when you decide to stand
Up for yourself,
You're shot down for being selfish.
For being lousy.
For being weird.
For having bruises.
For wanting a chance.
For wanting an escape.
For needing an escape.
For trying not to die.
Every day.
It.
Never.
Ends.
Do you know what it's like?
I do.
