I remember when my body worked fine,
When things came easy to my mind,
And I made it to the toilet on time.
I remember when all nighters was by choice,
Luke Skywalker had the Force,
And roaming meant you were headed for a divorce.
I remember when Paul Harvey spoke,
The hippies started taking a toke,
And when many cars still had a manual choke.
I remember when my clothes fit just right,
I read with my arms in tight,
And sleeping with only one pee during the night.
Anybody can grow old.
It is easy to do.
Growing up is optional.
Choosing this option is done by few.
Those with regrets will soon fear death.
Don’t fear growing old and what the changes have left.
We must run the race to the end.
The goal is to finish; that is how we win.
Growing old is not an option.
The only option is how it unfolds.
Do we keep on growing up
Or do we just keep on growing old?
