Hello gibbon my old friend, I’ve come to feed you once again. Because I am the keeper of the zoo, I have the llamas and the kinkajou. And the lemurs, and the water buffalo, all seem to know I am the zoo man. That restless lion is alone, the roar can chill you to the bone. The egrets start to stir when it is dawn, those grizzly bears all swear but get along. While the leopard, and the cunning bat-eared fox, and all the auks greet me every morning. I walk along chinchilla cage, and hear that old familiar rage. Outright there calls a pygmy marmoset, he wonders if it’s time for breakfast yet. I have a bush dog, and a slender-tailed meerkat, and one wombat all cry for me. When elephants and dwarf zebu, give me their morning howdy-do, around the zoo the others add their call, like waxy tree frogs by a waterfall. The crested screamer, and a hippopotamus, make morning fuss--they want attention. So even capybara cries, do not discriminate in size. I have a white-faced Saki taunting me, and over there exclaims a chimpanzee. I know the addax, and a cheetah with her speed, have morning need--they need the zoo man. 30 Lines |
