A girl and her God <3 She goes out to meet Him and He leads her down a quiet lake.
Once I went for a walk with the Lord,
And I could tell He had waited for me;
For as soon as we met, His eyes grew bright
As his embrace was heavenly.

So He took my hand and we set off,
Down a quiet lakeside.
He seemed so kind that my heart was unlocked
And in Him I began to confide.

I felt so at ease as I told Him my fears,
Then He looked at me and smiled,
And in that instant I remembered,
That He's my father and I'm His child.

But somehow fear still gripped my heart,
And I had so many doubts,
About life, the Church and God Himself;
I forgot what faith was about.

And the entire time we walked along,
He had given no reply;
I stared at Him in astonishment,
And began to wonder why.

Then suddenly He came to a stop,
And He turned to meet my gaze.
He was simply just so beautiful,
That I was awestruck and amazed.

A strange feeling then came over me,
And I began to look around.
Jesus was still in front of me,
But we were no longer on the ground!

The Lord had led me onto the lake,
And we were standing on the water,
I was so afraid, but He looked at me
And said, "My darling daugher:

You who once had so much faith,
Where is your trust now?
You doubt my awesome love for you,
And fear I would let you drown.
All these doubts you say you have,
Let me nail them to my cross,
And gather you in my loving arms,
Where you will never again feel lost.
For I the LORD am sustaining you,
And I wish that you would see,
That your search for answers will bear no fruit,
Unless you seek the truth in Me.
Now as I lead you back to shore,
Do not let go of my hand,
I know that you still have questions for me,
But one day, you'll understand."

"Dear Lord," I replied, "I will not let go,
And even though I'm still afraid,
I'm convinced more now than ever before,
That through You, I CAN be saved."

"My Jesus," I asked, "Can we do this again?
Joy has taken over my sorrow."
The Lord smiled and said, "Well alright then,
We'll come back again tomorrow."
