Prayermantis

Grandmother used to say
that if a praying mantis should come my way,
it meant someone was really praying hard for me
and that something I needed I soon would see--
Must be--I've seen five today!

One on the window when I entered my car,
One on the doorknob at work, not far
from the one on the table where I sit
and then another one underneath it!
The fifth on the shelf where my books are!

The phone's been ringing I'm happy to say
from potential authors headed my way,
someone ordered my books, someone emailed me
another called: Appointment Tuesday at three!
I'm so glad I've had a mantis-full day!
