A bold poem about you and me, us, and what we face together. |
-We Are- by Keaton Foster You Me We are Us Them Who exactly Not a clue Why not Because How did we You and me Us Ever get here To this point In this now This moment of time Unsure We’ve become What Pondering such things Purpose Meaning Reason A never ending season These words Mine Turned into Commutative property Powerful expressions Of over abundance Under the same sun Living and dying Preparing ourselves A somewhat unified front Via our consequential existence Together we seem Out of desperate need When we scream wolf In the middle of the woods Only other wolves show up All seeing eyes are upon us Yet we are blind Our Unwillingness Will be our doom The truth As always The one we won’t admit Is that we are apart Connected beings Living quite disconnected Do we You and me Us Have a chance Speculation at best We are In this together Good, bad Indifferent We must survive Or at least fight to I would like to think That such a precious gift Won’t be wasted And that we You and me Us Will be ok Then again What do I know Absolutely nothing Most of all you… We Are Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2012. |
