A poem about giving people weapons to deal with life through my words. |
-Warning- by Keaton Foster This is a warning A way of telling Confirming Wisdom asserted Ignorance obliterated What I’ve been doing You should know You have that right You are my audience This is the performance Of my pathetic life When the curtain falls When the lights go out You will remain Dare I say changed In minuscule ways At first you will not know At first you will have no idea But be assured The receptive nature of our species Cannot be ignored One day, one place One event that you Will do anything to escape Some of my words The ones thought lost The ones seemingly pointless Contrived anecdotes written To appease myself as well as you Will find you When they do You will think back Long before that place Back to another Where I The man with much to say Filled up a blank page And sent it out Into the space Between you and I You will find peace Through finally understanding All that I have been saying This is a warning Heed it if you must Take it deep inside Ingest my words In turn devour my soul It is yours to consume Just as sure as it is mine To write out Line by line… Warning Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2012. |
