My Greatgrandma had an exciting night in the graveyard. |
The "Ghost" In The Graveyard My greatgrandmother Julia Kuchma, worked as a seamstress at a sewing factory. She was a Czech/Jew Immigrant and came through Ellis Island. She worked long days and walked home, having no car. One night after work, she was taking a shortcut through the cemetary and fell into an open grave. She hurt her ankle badly and could not climb out. A few young men came by and heard her moaning in the grave. She called out to them, but they were so pertrified that they ran off, leaving her to be rescued later. I'm sure the sight of the pale woman with bright red, long hair made them think she was a ghost or vampire. Her thick European accent must have made her sound like the ones in the movies. How silly people are. The Bible says that there are no ghosts, just demons impersonating people to confuse the living. I admit, it's fun to watch a ghost story or read one, but the fact is, there are no transient souls. Jesus says that we cannot be lost, that he is with us always, even in death. The believers go to Heaven, the unbelieving go to Hell. But there is a spirit world where the angels battle the demons. They can pose as dead people, angels, aliens, whatever they think will confuse people and lure them away from the truth of Jesus. I would advise to keep your distance from the "haunted" places because they are haunted by demons which are more deadly than any imagined ghost unless you are sealed as a child of God and saved by Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:8- We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Luke 11:24- When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.' |
