A short poem I made years ago.
I played the fool

like you'd thought I'd be

I played it well

bearing all your insecurities

Now eight years past and the memories fade

but mine are still fresh as if from yesterday

Still I shake your hand and greet you with a smile,

saying "Its been a while."

You laugh and greet right back,

clasping my hand like a long lost friend.

You talk of the things that happened since then

while I stutter playing the fool once again.

You think nothing about me has changed but just wait and see

for the one who’ll end up laughing is me.
