Chapter 1

The day I met the boy, my eyes stared at him wide-eyed. The boy was frail and dainty. He was pale and skinny. His eyes hair was black and his eyes were as brown as fall leaves with a dash of green. His cheeks were flushed and he kept coughing. I could easily figure out that he was sick. He wore a white shirt and torn jeans. He held a girl"s hand tightly. She shily stood by his side, she had a toy tucked under her arm. She always was diluted, but not ill. She wore a blanched red dress and black shoes. Her silver  hair shined in the sunlight, it sparkled as she moved it.

The boy began to sway. "I'm glad your adopting him." said the lady. The boy's brown eyes began to swell up with tears. His grip tightened on the girl's hand. Soon tears flowed from the girl's face. "Why is she crying?" I finally asked. "She's upset to see her brother leave. Most siblings get seperated through adoptions." said the lady. The boy slumped down to the floor.

The girl placed her teddy bear in her brother's arms and hugged him. The girl looked up at me, it felt as if see was staring into me. Her blue eyes pircing through my heart. "Please dont take me away from my brother." she said through tears. "You know pleading won't help." said the lady. She persuaded me, to adopt her. They were so young, it hurt inside to see the condition they were both in. The boy glanced up at me, his eyes were glossy. " If I may, I'll take them both. Everyone needs a mom." I said.  Both of them had a sense of happiness upon thier faces. I knew I was doing the right thing. It turns out twins yield a bond, a special quality they have: cat ears and a tail.

The first four days were unique. Thier personalities were simliar and different. The boy, named Alex, always seemed to be in tranquillity and alone. The girl Aliy was shy, but open to things. She was alot bolder than her brother. Alex sat down by the window, looked outside. "Alex don't you want to play?" I asked. He turned around glancing at me, then said "N-N-No." he said. He was watching Aily playing outside.I smiled and held out my hand. He hesitated, then slowly reached out and grabbed it. He was a very timid boy. "Are you hungry?" I asked. "No." he said softly. "Don't be shy." I said. He wandered outside to Aliy. He seemed happier with Aliy, then by himself. I was in the kitchen preapring dinner when, a small hand tugged at my apron. My eyes looked down to see Aliy with tearsdropping from her face.

"What's wrong?" I asked. Her ears were flattened and her tail coiled around her leg. She squeezed her teddy bear immensley. "Al- Alex wont move." she said. My feet were already up the steps and by his side. I held the boy in my arms. He layed limp in my arms. "Alex." I whispered. His eyes opened slowly, his body was warm to the touch. "Are you alright?" I asked. "Yeah." he said softly. I gently placed him in a room, under the blankets. His forhead was quite warm.  "Is he going to live?" Aliy asked. "Of course. He just has a fever." I said. She sighed a sigh of relief. Her ears and tail relaxed. She stayed by his side everyday til he was feeling better.  I could see they loved each other deeply and truely.

Istood by the window looking outside. A bird had landed on a nearby branch. My eyes grew curious, I've never seen a blue bird before! "There you are." said the woman. She had short brown hair and forest green eyes. She was young and sweet. Always encouraging us to paly or to help her. She patted my head which made my head twitch. My head turned to the sound of the door open, then slam forcefully. A young boy and a man came next to the woman. " Hi Louise." said the man. "Louisea?" I said. "Why yes that's my name." she said with a sweet smile. " Who's that?" asked the boy. "Why does he cat ears and a tail?" he asked. "It's not polite to point." said Louise. "Moi."I said. "Huh?" they all said. "Moi un chat." I said. They exchanged glances then looked at me confused. Luckily Aily walked in.  "What's he saying?" said the boy. "He said he's a cat." she said. "WHAAT!? You can understand him!" said the boy. "Yeah he's my brother and our mommy taught us." she said. "Alex doesnt know alot of english."she said.

"Alex will sleep in your room till we clean out a room for him." Louise said. Everyone left the room except Aily. "I want mommy." I said. "I do too." she said.  We were young, Aliy was seven and I was three. It was difficult not being able to be with mom.  At dinner we all sat around the table. Aily sat next to me, I kept my head down. Aliy took my hand in hers, she could sense I was upset. The food was different but good. When everyone was nearly finished, Louise said "Kyo could you show Alex where your room is?" sheasked. "Why?" he groaned.
