Nostalgia and the fear of the future when a loved one is moving away
Do you ever want to reverse time
Or pause it at a moment in your life
Like when you asked me ‘will you be mine’
Cos that was the start of something perfect.

Do you remember being a tourist in London town
When I showed you all the places I love
Or in the evenings when I came around
Watching movies while we kissed.

But now things are changing
And I don’t know where they’re taking me
I don’t want you to go away.
I’m scared but you need to see that I’m ok
My heart aches but you can’t see my tears
I just need you to be my baby.
Sometimes I wish I could know the future
Sometimes I wish we were written in stone.

Remember our first bubble bath
The candlelight flickering and the music gentle
Remember holding hands walking along that path
Watching the colours of the sunrise.

The only new memories I want are ones with you
Because our memories are the best I’ve had
I really hope you feel this way too
I hope your memories are as good as mine.

I know you’re excited but
Are you a bit scared too?
You don’t say anything but
Will you miss me too?
I just want you to tell me
That I’ll always be yours.

Cos now things are changing
And I don’t know where they’re taking me
I don’t want you to go away.
I’m scared but you need to see that I’m ok
My heart aches but you can’t see my tears
I just need you to be my baby.
Sometimes I wish I could know the future
Sometimes I wish we were written in stone.
