I Once Read a Book I once read a book that taught me how to fly Then each morning when alone, I took to the sky I had no feathers or even one wing I just had the knowledge - a great thing After that, I read another book about energy Then each morning when alone, I made entropy This made everything fall into disorder And predictable events became out of order I was afraid to read another, but did it anyway This brought about my knowledge of telekinesis that day Now I can rearrange the furniture and stay In my room the whole day, and play Now I’m reading another fun book From the computer I just took Using my telekinesis, from a crook It’s such fun reading, in my nook Tomorrow I think I’m going to need Books about jets and supersonic speed Then there’ll be no use for greed Maybe 1000 books a day I’ll read All this reading has tired me out But from the treetops I want to shout “Most all the answers are in books”, I’ll tout “Everything’s in there – that’s what it’s about” Read, read, and read some more It doesn’t matter, rich or poor You’ll gain some knowledge that’s for sure Your betterment may even, even the score LeBuert 2012 ![]() |
