Of Service; Gift To Me Some sounds, slowly ebbed; creating defining tinnitus Along with this, is MS and Arthritis Suddenly alert, door bell woofs an alarm To alert me, she heads directly toward my arm Moving gracefully, nails tic, tic, tic, on the floor A warm soft nose bumps me: is someone at the door? Giving thanks with a pat, I get ready to scat Turn my chair on, at the drop of a hat Trusting her judgement, I follow her lead Engine purring; down the wheelchair ramp, we proceed approaching the door; knock, knock! I'm on my way To open the door, and bid you good day Excited canine trembling, from head to foot Jumping and spinning body, and then calm; because of my look Turning lever nob, the outside cold blows in Neighbor enters, addressing Bella, once again My caressing strokes and pats; a welcome reward For her job well done, Bella's a happy service dog, and more I am blessed and happy to have my helper, and friend A gift from God; "A God Send" lines: 20 Punctuation in this poem was used to introduce pauses of different lengths, for emphasis and musicality.
