EARTH

From mud he was created’ “God!  Chose to called him Man,

He went and named him Adam’ and showed him all my land,

God took a rib from Adam, and then created 'Eve,

Then said he to Adam' the two of you shall cleave.

God! told Adam’ to look after and treat me with care!

For I was his prize! When man wasn’t there,

  The plants of my fields’ I gave them to man, 

  That they should enjoy them’ and eat all he can,

That how things were long ago,

Times were happy’ and pleasant so,

My world was green’ my seas were clean,

I lived in harmony’ with the human being.



But the family grew’ in Adam domain;

They became restless’ and started to complain,

Some sailed my seas’ some crossed my lands,

They also multiplied’ and became like sand,

They gathered in many places,

And became a world of different races,

My climatic conditions’ changing colour,

Alienating brother’ from each other,

Conflicts and wars, became a habit,

Of men wanting’ power and profit,

They scorched my lands’ pollute my seas,

Will their hunger for more’ never cease.



Something is happening’ I feel weaker somehow

The greed of men is destroying me now,

I fed them’ I clothed them’ looked after them well,

Look at me now’ I’m turning to hell,

The greed of men’ outweighs their reasoning,

Of that there is no doubt,

Is there anything in the universe?’

That can make them turn about,

Will God intervene’ before they go too far,

They’ll destroy me! Then go for a star.



Then they won’t need me,

When they can travel in space,

They’ll colonise planets’ far from this place,

Then they will leave me’ to burn like the sun,

My world of green’ all will be gone,

The animals and insect’ will be no more,

Nor will my seas’ not even a shore,

He’ll destroy other planets’ with his inherent greed,

And the pity of it all’ for my children I weep!

For God’ is their father ’from me he gave birth,

I am their Mother!  'Planet Earth.....
