A short rhyming poem about a young boy plotting to get rid of his homework.
Homework, oh homework, from you play I am deprived
Why did teachers even make you come alive?
I never seem to have spare time
Just the word’s like a bad nursery rhyme!

If we had a dog he’d swallow you whole
Chuck you in the fire and burn your little soul
Fly you away on a cargo plane
Put you on the tracks before a moving train.

Bring in the cat to tear you apart
Sharpen some blades to aim at your heart
Light up a match to blacken your edges
Smother your words with mouldy cheese wedges.

Homework, oh homework, you’ve made me grow ill
I wish the wind would blow you over the hill
It seems so unfair, you eat up my fun
I’ve sat here for hours and still I’m not done.

Homework, oh homework, these are my last words
I’ve decided to leave you to our brainy school nerds
Now that you’re gone, my weekend is free
But others still have you, so can’t play with me!
