A poem about departure
Parting

You go left and I go right,
for we must part
it may be for a day and a night,
it may be forever.
But whether we meet or whether we part
a pledge from ones heart to his fellows heart
on the ways we all are going!
We do not know where we will go.

Whether we win or whether we lose
with the hand that life is dealing,
it is not us that choose
but the fall of the cards that's sealing.
There’s fate in love and fate in fight,
And whether we're wrong or whether we're right,
we win, sometimes, to our wonder.
So that we may not yet go under!

With a steady step and determined countenance
we have tramped the ways together,
but we're clasping hands at the crossroads now
and whether we bleed or whether we smile
in the many miles that lie before us
the miles may vary
but with luck there will be cheer
Before the dark takes us!

You go left and I go right,
for we must Part
it may be for a day and a night
May be forever
but whether we live or whether we die
here are two good friends and an open world
is our live good or be they bad
We will remember the times we’ve had
