Another opinion ventured in the toilet seat war…but possibly a new one.
Here’s what I have to say about the toilet seat war: Ladies, but the seat down yourself.
Is this such a big deal? Look before you sit, if it’s up, put it down. If we don’t always have to put the seat back up for them, why do they always have to put it back down for us?

Yes, I know: If you get up in the middle of the night and sit, you fall through, which is very disconcerting, not to mention cold. So, if he gets up in the middle of the night and the seat is down so he misses, is that okay with you? Besides, you haven’t fallen in in years, yet you still get on him for leaving it up. Be fair.

That said: Guys, it really is easier for you to look first because you are facing it when you use it and we are not, so it would be nice if you would try to remember to put it down. But, ladies, this is important: There is no message he is sending you here. There is no hidden agenda, he is not being disrespectful to you or inconsiderate or ignoring your needs. (Though, gentlemen, it would help all concerned if you were aware that this is exactly what is going on in the woman’s mind.) He’s just leaving the seat up. Can we let this go now? Really, there are much greater priorities.
