Anger

When there is so much anger
There are no words to describe
The pain and sorrow that can linger
Or the fears, that run and hide

That bastard, he killed me with a blow
A million blows that keep hitting
And never cease to slow
Even though…no punishment was fitting

Past the damage done already
More strikes are struck-and struck
His arm he keeps steady
Waiting for the perfect, stroke of luck

For me to open up a door
And let him traipse in - like a neighbor
Befitting love - once given – now taken
Never again will I harbor

The pain and misery bestowed
Upon my body, soul, and spirit
That which taken – owed
Is given to those who deserve it
