As the wind blows fitfully, it sounds like the angels crying. A Country Music Lovers Entry
The Angels Crying

You used to say that every ray
of sunshine brightening up each day
was an angel smiling, so beguiling,
chasing all the clouds away.

And when the sun marked day as done
as it dimmed and journeyed down,
I'd hear you say, as if in play,
that you could see the angel's frown.

(Chorus)
Now when I hear the gentle sighing
as the wind blows fitfully,
it sounds like the angels crying.
It's a haunting melody;
a song of love that's undying
that will never set me free.

I watch you lay as shadows play
then disappear without a trace.
With such softness, they caress
your gentle, sleeping face.

I've lost my grip as you slip
away without a sound.
As the end nears, there are no fears
for you've angels all around.

(Chorus)
Now when I hear the gentle sighing
as the wind blows fitfully,
it sounds like the angels crying.
It's a haunting melody;
a song of love that's undying
that will never set me free.

From the start you've had my heart
and my love was deep.
Now you're gone, I'm all alone
and I can only weep ...

... and join the angels crying
As I listen to the sighing

(Fade)
The wind blows fitfully;
it sounds like angels crying.
It's a haunting melody;
a song of love undying
that will never set me free.
