Short story about a girl getting bit by a vampire. |
My heart pounds throughout my ears. I hear the near silent steps on the pavement around me, though I cannot find the source of sound. He is near. His presence is a light winter’s breeze on the back of my neck. Then I hear it – the soft, raspy, breathy voice. As I’m standing still, waiting to see if the voice gets closer, I hear nothing but silence. I went to take a deep breath of relief, thinking I was safe, until I felt a soft, gentle touch on my shoulder. “It won’t hurt for long,” he assured me. Before I could do anything I felt his sharp jagged teeth sink into the soft, pure skin on my neck. The taste of my blood made him so weak that he almost didn’t let go. I finally got enough strength and courage to pull away. “Enough!” I yelled in fear and anger. He let go with blood dripping from his mouth like a wild dog. “What happens now?” I questioned him, not being sure if I really wanted to know the answer. “Your blood will turn cold and you will be just as I am,” he replied calmly. I started weeping in despair as this dramatic change hit me. It was very painful, but not as painful as the bite. “Enjoy,” was the last word he left me with in satisfaction that he had turned me into someone just as himself. After he left, I sat there in darkness where I felt that I belonged. |
