My Head- A Political Viewpoint

My head hurts when
Politicians
Think they’re above us.

My head throbs
And I feel as if
I have the worst headache
Ever.

We used to have
The most prosperous country
In the world.

But now,
We’re simply a wad of gum on the ground,
Being walked all over
By the government.

Taxes are high,
Academic standards are low,
And a chance for a good job
Seems distant, if not
Impossible.

And while this happens,
The government
Throws most of our money over
To the military, while
The hungry could be getting fed.

It makes me think-
What, just what
Has happened?
