Sad to witness lovers split apart
To watch the little things that once endeared
Now fuel contempt

Does each lay her head down to sleep
Praying to a different deity
Her regrets to keep
From the other

No hugs
No warmth
No understanding

She says “Day.”
The other says “Duck.”
Together they make no sense

Tragic
Where one love once blossomed
“Days” and “ducks”
Are the two remains
