A Romantic Poem about eternal love |
Gracefully through the clouds she glides Her wings ascend to touch the skies A glimpse so vague of a past so dark Leaves a longing in her heart Down she slips into the forest of dreams Surrounded by the suns hot beams On a branch she gently lands Before her unfolds a scene so grand A maiden fair with eyes of Green At the tender age of seventeen Awaits the return of her love so dear Who has been gone almost a year A voice rings through the summer air She turns to find her lover there Into his open arms she flies As he looks so deep into her eyes From his pocket he pulls a band And places it gently on her hand Through the silence she hears a sound And sees him crumple to the ground Tears run slowly down her face As she envelopes him in her embrace Don't cry my love he softly sighs My love for you will never die He takes his last and final breath And sinks so peacefully into death She buries her face in his chest And thrusts his dagger into her breast From her branch she let out a cry As a tear ran slowly from her eye Off into the sky she flew To escape the pain her spirit once knew |
