This is a dream I had, in poem form.
I walk along the wall,
I hear the ocean splashing
And crashing below.
My friend, he beckons me,
Saying 'just a little bit farther'.
I say,
'Let's go all the way to the
Mainland.'
'Sure'.

We go along,
Being careful not to slip
To our deaths
As the seagulls call.
Then the sky changes,
From blue to
Black.

My friend says we had better go back,
Because the ocean is reaching for us,
Trying to grab our feet.
And
What was beautiful and fun
One minute,
Has turned to black and hateful the next.

I turn to go back,
And I slip.
I fall backwards into the water,
And I'm pulled
Down, down,
To the bottom,
As if the force of
Gravity
is stronger here.
I know I can't get back,
So as I lay at the bottom,
I say a quick prayer
To God,
And because I know that
Waiting for death
Won't stop the pain,
I take a breath.
