Writing about three of Jesus' miracles for my assignment. |
I will be writing in character and my own personal views for this assignment for the Lenten Adventure.Follow me on this adventure. Thanks for reading. Feeding The Five Thousand My Character I have been following Jesus for quite awhile. The man can do anything. There were mulitudes of people, five thousand to be exact and they were hungry. The disciples wanted Jesus to send them away because there wasn't enough food. There were five loaves of bread and two fish. It wasn't enough for the disciples, Jesus and myself. Jesus didn't let that stop him from feeding the multitudes of people. He was filled with compassion for these people and he healed the sick. Jesus said about the people: "Bring them here to me." He took the five loaves of bread and two fish and looked up to heaven. He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples and the disciples gave them to the multitudes. So, they all ate and were filled and they took up twelve baskets full of fragments that remained. We had witnessed another miracle. I wished the Roman soldiers were there to bear witness to this. They would see how important Jesus is and know that he is the son of God. The fish and bread were some of the best food that I had ever eaten. Jesus smiled as he watched the people ate. God had blessed the food and he and Jesus made sure that everyone had food to eat. I love following Jesus. With Jesus, I know I will never starve and he amazes me and inspires me. There isn't anything this man can't do. I wish everyone loved him as much as I do. Personal View: Ever since I was a little girl, I always loved this story. I was amazed how Jesus made five loaves of bread and two fish turn into food to feed five thousand. I go to Wal*Mart every two weeks to buy food. It seems like food gets used up so quickly. In Bible School, we had a picture of some people, Jesus and some of his disciples by the lake and we had a construction basket and two fish and two loaves of bread made out of construction paper done up in blue and we pasted the fish and bread in the picture. When I think of Jesus feeding the five thousand, this picture enters my mind. I always like the song: "I Will Make You Fishers Of Men If You Follow Me." Feeding Five Thousand? Jesus did it with God's help. Farmers grow crops, fishermen catch fish and there are people working in the food industry. It is so great to have food. Sometimes, we eat more then we should. God watches over us and food is a blessing. I could never cook for five thousand people and make food stretch and mutilpy food like Jesus did. Jesus is always working on miracles for all of us. Raising Of A Widow's Son At Nain My Character: I traveled with Jesus and the disciples along with a large crowd to Nain. A dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother and she was a widow. A large crowd from the city was with her. I offered her my hand and she took it. I saw the sadness in her eyes as did the others. Jesus said to her: "Do not weep."`He came and touched the open coffin and those who carried him stood still. Jesus said: Young man, I say to you, arise." So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. He went to his mother. The crowd said: A great prophet has risen up among us" and "God has visited his people." This report went out to Judea and all around the area. The mother and son thanked Jesus and hugged him. I hugged them as well. The mother could smile now. My heart skipped a beat and I remembered how Jesus had saved me from being stoned. I had to spend time with men to make a living but that is all behind me. Jesus forgave my sins and cleansed and healed me. I love following this man as he does miracles and preaches his father's word. I am so blessed to be part of this. With Jesus' work done in Nain, we said good bye to the widow and the young man Jesus had bought back from the dead. The mother and son would spread the tale of this miracle to others. I smile and feel more love for this great man Jesus and the Lord. The heart can hold a lot of love and Jesus loves more then me and does more miracles on his travels. How could I not want to be part of this? My adventure with Jesus and witnessing his miracles continue. My Personal Views: I had forgotten about this story. Jesus heals the sick and raises the dead. I always like the one where Jesus walks on water but that isn't one of my miracles assigned to me. We see sick people being healed all the time. We pray and God listens. There have been cases of doctors bringing people back from the dead after dying five minutes earlier but we all know that God is in control of this. He does give us doctors to heal us and treat us. We can be thankful for that. I pray to God and Jesus for everyone who is sick. I love reading in the Bible about Jesus healing people and bringing the dead back to life. I work in health care and I was always sad when an elderly person died in the Nursing Home I worked at. I said a prayer to God and hoped that person made it to Heaven. I am certified in CPR and if I ever needed to use it, I would to save a life. We know that God is the one who saves people from death but he gives us humans knowledge and wisdom{the doctors} to do so. I am so glad God is there for us as Jesus is also. Healing A Man's Withered Hand Jesus met a man who had a withered hand. The people asked Jesus: "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?". This they asked so that they might accuse him. Jesus replied:"What man is there among you who has one sheep and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out? Of how much more value then is a man then a sheep? Therefore, do good on the Sabbath." He said to the man: "Stretch out your hand." And he stretched out his hand and it was restored whole as the other. Then the Pharisees went out and plotted against him, how they might destroy Him. I can't believe how naive people can be. Healing someone on the Sabbath Day is part of the Sabbath. On the Sabbath, you pray to God and worship and thank him. If a fellow man is in trouble, you help him. Like Jesus said about a fallen sheep, you help the poor creature. Good deeds are important no matter what day it is. I worry for Jesus. He has done so many miracles and some people don't care. They want to find fault. They are cruel. Where is the love in their heart that Jesus has taught them? The Sabbath and the Lord isn't important to them. They are no better then the Roman soldiers. I am ashamed for them. Jesus tells me to pray and that they are worthy of love and forgiveness. He takes my hand and warms my heart. The man with the withered hand is so thankful that Jesus healed his hand. The adventure continues. Jesus shines. My Personal Views We are to keep the Sabbath day holy. I agree with that. I work in health care and I work every other weekend. I go to Church on my weekends off. At least I try to. Stores are open on Sundays. Some people have to go grocery shopping on Sundays and have things to do on Sunday. As long as we keep God in our hearts, try to make it to Church and read our Bibles and devotions, God and Jesus knows that we keep this day holy. Jesus healed the man's hand. I admire how he does things. I have a few miracles of my own. After my house burned down, I drove to my father-in-law's house. I don't remember driving the car to get there which is just four minutes from my house. I think Angels were driving the car. God healed my trace of cancer in my uterus. He has been there for me in all my medical tests. One time, on a snowy day, a big St. Bernard ws running down the middle of the road and there was a big snow drift and it was hard for me to stay on my side of the road and there was another car coming on the other side. I was afraid one of us would hit the dog. We didn't. It is like an invisible barrier appeared and the dog was safe and the other car and my car didn't hit each other or hit the dog. Jesus worked miracles and he still does today. We should always hold on to our faith and be thankful we have God and Jesus in our lives. I love my adventure with Jesus and God. ** Image ID #1754112 Unavailable ** |
