Midnight Crazy Late in the night, as midnight approaches, Illusions come by and begin taking over, Fear and its demons come out of the closet, Catching me off guard, freaked under the covers Looking for an exit, my hands reach the curtains, And the coldness of night makes me slip back under, My only source of heat lies under the sheets, And the menace of the oncoming makes me lay still and ponder My mind’s shutting down; sleep’s making its way, Defeat proving to be the most probable to win, Illusions and fear fighting over dominion, No way out, no exit, not many options but to surrender There, feeling hopeless, I just had a flash, A flash of her pretty face telling me: “Hold my hand”, And there as if from nowhere I regained my strength, And fear and all its demons started leaving my domain The darkness was transformed into light, The demons were replaced by heavenly angels, As she put her hands on my face and whispered in my ear: “This is reality, it’s you and me; Midnight crazy, nevermore to be" |
