ALLAH OR CHRIST?—a sonnet


Should we worry that others don’t agree
To what is our sacred point of view?
Because the world differently they see
Should we for this reason our ill fate rue?

Men have argued too much over ages
Singing praises for their respective god.
Though He does have indeed many faces,
That people fight in his name is so odd.

Some say Jesus is the only saviour.
Others say Allah is the real name.
Of both, mistaken is such behaviour.
They kill others to spread their master’s fame.

When shall we the basic truth realize?
That waging wars in God’s name is not wise.
