a poem written about the beginnings of winter
The leaves have fallen,
The cold is creeping in
And here I stand in awe of it all.
I watch as the world turns
And the seasons change
I wonder how we can live life,
Without ever realizing how beautiful
It is to be alive.

The Snow begins to fall and cast its blanket upon the ground
And I laugh and stick out my tongue to catch a few flakes
The sleds are pulled out and children begin to laugh
Friends walk in the cold, hand in hand.
And the joy of my heart reaches out
When I see just how amazing it is
To be alive
